Wisteria morning tea

Emerge 2026 - Wisteria.jpg

Celebrate the beauty of the blooming wisteria with a relaxed morning in the park for all ages.

Join the Mayor and Councillors for a community morning tea near the stunning wisteria archway. Visitors are encouraged to bring along a picnic rug and share a morning tea or picnic with family and friends. Complimentary tea, coffee and light refreshments will be available from our coffee cart with ambient music from DJ GNGR for the perfect backdrop to the morning.

Celebrate the winners of the Hidden Gems Art Competition at the awards presentation from 10:15 am, then at 10:45 am, learn how to capture the perfect wisteria photo at our free photography workshop. Bring your own camera or smartphone and pick up tips and techniques to help you take beautiful photos of the iconic floral display.

Then at 11:30 am, unwind with a gentle yoga session led by local instructor Yuen Yuen. Suitable for beginners and experienced participants alike, the session will include gentle movement and breath connection in a peaceful outdoor setting. Participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat, with a limited number of mats available to borrow on the day.

About Yuen Yuen

Yoga has been an integral part of Yuen's daily routine since 2011. She teaches at Willoughby Leisure Centre and has facilitated relaxation sessions at Royal North Shore Hospital for cancer patients and their carers. Yuen embraces the strengthening, restorative and meditative aspects of yoga, and is grateful for the opportunity to share the practice while continuing to learn from inspiring teachers.

Whether you'd like to enjoy a picnic, improve your photography skills or relax with some yoga, come along and enjoy a beautiful spring morning among the wisteria blooms.

This is a free community event. No bookings required.
