Leaping Horses

Leaping Horses 2.jpg

The Concourse becomes a playground during spring as we host the Leaping Horses, a playful interactive light and sound installation that celebrates the energy, renewal and joy of spring. Featuring three kinetic seesaws designed for public participation, the artwork invites people of all ages to jump on, ride together and experience the installation come to life through movement.

Each seesaw is crowned with a stylised horse head and fitted with responsive LED lighting and a custom sound system. As participants ride, animated light travels along the structure, glowing and changing in real time. The faster the movement, the faster the light races across the horses, creating a dynamic visual display that mirrors the rhythm of play.

Accompanying the lights are uplifting musical tones that respond to the motion of each seesaw, transforming every ride into a unique sensory experience. Together, the interactive elements encourage connection, cooperation and spontaneous moments of fun.

Inspired by the vitality and optimism of spring, Leaping Horses turns a familiar playground activity into a shared experience that celebrates movement, community and the simple joy of coming together during Emerge Festival.

Maximum two people on each side. No bookings required.

The Leaping Horses are created by Australian artists, Amigo and Amigo with the artwork known as Lunar Leap.
