The Emerge Festival is a celebration of Willoughby City Council’s diversity and creativity.

The festival provides invaluable opportunities for community groups and emerging artists to be showcased in the Willoughby City's cultural and entertainment celebration.

The program of events includes stimulating, modern and contemporary material that encourages people young and old to get out and explore the Willoughby local government area.

Willoughby City's landscape is as diverse as our people and urban places. Our city is home to significant bushland as well as Middle Harbour estuary and Lane Cove River. These are important tributaries to the world renowned Sydney Harbour. We are committed to protecting, conserving and improving these diverse landscapes, for current and future generations.

Council's Our Green City Plan 2028 outlines how we will respond to the community’s key needs and priorities to protect our environment. In line with this plan, Council aims to lead by example and presents its events and festivals, including Emerge Festival, as sustainably as possible.

It's our policy to avoid single use plastics, balloons and other pollutants. Where possible we endeavour to source supplies locally and we work with our stall holders and event organisers to do the same. Included in the festival’s program are events and activities to educate the community in how to live sustainably. There are also lots of opportunities to get out and enjoy our wonderful environment. 

The Emerge Festival is coordinated by the Arts and Culture Unit of Willoughby City Council.
